About EPUB to PDF

AntiUpload's EPUB to PDF converter turns reflowable EPUB ebooks into PDF documents without uploading them anywhere. It unzips the EPUB, reads the reading order from the book's spine, and rebuilds each chapter — headings, paragraphs, lists, images, and emphasis — as a paginated PDF with real, selectable text (not page screenshots), so you can search, copy, and highlight in the result.

Everything runs in your browser with WebAssembly, so your book never leaves your device. That matters for purchased, borrowed, or personal ebooks you'd rather not hand to a conversion server. It's also faster: there's no multi-megabyte upload and download round-trip.

v1 targets reflowable, DRM-free EPUBs (Project Gutenberg, self-published, and author- or publisher-provided files). It preserves document structure and Unicode text faithfully; it does not yet reproduce the book's custom CSS (exact fonts, drop caps, fixed-layout/comic EPUBs). DRM-protected store purchases can't be opened by any browser tool, including this one.

How it works

  1. Drop your EPUB into the converterDrag a .epub file onto the upload zone, or click to browse. The file stays on your device — nothing is uploaded.
  2. Client-side conversion runs in your browserThe engine unzips the EPUB, walks the spine in reading order, and lays out each chapter into PDF pages with embedded Unicode fonts — entirely offline from any server.
  3. Download your selectable-text PDFWhen it finishes, download the PDF. Text stays searchable and copyable, and it opens in any PDF reader, on any device.

When to use EPUB to PDF

Reading an ebook on a device without an EPUB reader
Convert a Gutenberg or self-published EPUB to PDF to read on a basic tablet, e-ink reader, or anything that opens PDFs but not EPUB.
Printing a book or chapter
EPUB reflows and most readers print poorly. A PDF gives you fixed, printable pages with consistent margins.
Annotating or quoting a book
Selectable-text PDFs let you highlight, copy passages, and add comments in any PDF annotator — useful for study and research.
Keeping a private archive
Convert your own DRM-free ebooks to PDF for a personal archive without sending them to a third-party server.

Frequently asked questions

Is my ebook uploaded to your servers?
No. The whole conversion runs in your browser with WebAssembly — your EPUB never leaves your device. You can open your browser's Network tab while converting to confirm nothing is sent.
Will the PDF have selectable text or just page images?
Real, selectable text. The engine rebuilds the book with embedded fonts rather than screenshotting pages, so the PDF stays searchable and copyable and the file size stays small.
Can it convert DRM-protected (Kindle/store) ebooks?
No. DRM-protected purchases are encrypted and no browser tool can open them — that's a legal and technical limit, not specific to us. This tool works on DRM-free EPUBs: Project Gutenberg, self-published books, and files you were given directly.
Does it keep the book’s exact fonts and design?
v1 preserves structure (headings, paragraphs, lists, images) and Unicode text in a clean serif layout. It does not yet apply the EPUB's custom CSS — so heavily-designed or fixed-layout books (e.g. comics, illustrated children's books) won't look pixel-identical. Prose books convert cleanly.
What about MOBI, AZW3, or KFX (Kindle) files?
Not supported — those are Amazon formats and are almost always DRM-protected. Convert from EPUB instead.
